Pittsburgh Trip

It's always great to go back to Pittsburgh (since, I have no immediate family in Florida).

I had a great time visiting with the family (and getting some rest). As always, my mom fed me well (maybe too well, I will need to go back on my diet) and provided a nice comfortable bed where I got caught up on my sleep ( a nice break from the doggy wakeup calls).

My mom and stepdad's home may one day be considered a historical site. It's foundation (which you can see in the basement) is a real log cabin. But you would never know it by looking at the rest of the house.

The highlights of the trip (besides seeing family, shopping, and hitting golf balls) was going to the Pirate game on Saturday night. I was surprised (and happy) when everyone showed up to see the lowly Pirates (and me) since the Penguins were playing game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

(I had a portable TV where I was able to monitor the hockey game. I was glad that I didn't miss the baseball game based on the outcome of the Pens game)

It was great to see my uncle and aunt (and their grandkids), along with my brother and sisters families.

The game was an exciting one (the Pirates actually won 7-4). After the game (which was almost a sellout), the fun really got started. Their was a country music concert (Zac Brown band) followed by a never-ending SPECTACULAR fireworks display. It was so cool to see the fireworks shoot off as we walked across the bridge to our car. Just when you thought it was over, there was another 'Grand Finale', and another ...

That's all for now. I will be back in Tampa later today (just in time to see game 2 of the playoffs)
